Four people, including two children, were hospitalized on Wednesday when two vehicles collided on Deer Park Avenue in Dix Hills.

According to police, David Pardee, 53, of Greenlawn, was driving a white Toyota Four Runner southbound on Deer Park Avenue when he struck a minivan, carrying a female driver and two children, near Vanderbilt Parkway at approximately 2 p.m. Police did not identify the woman or child passengers.

Upon inspection of the vehicles, investigators found an open bottle of vodka inside Pardee's car. He was arrested and charged with DWI. All four individuals were sent to Huntington Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, police said.
