UPDATE: Arrest in Dix Hills Bank Robbery

Suffolk County Police charge a North Patchogue man with three counts of robbery.

Suffolk County Police arrested a North Patchogue man Tuesday afternoon for allegedly robbing three banks during the past week.

James Kosin, 42, was arrested at the Abbey Motel, located at 317 West Jericho Turnpike, Huntington Station, by Major Case Investigations Unit detectives at approximately 1 p.m.

Kosin was charged with three counts of robbery in the third degree for allegedly robbing a Bethpage Federal Credit Union in North Babylon on Sept. 9, a Bank of America in Dix Hills on Sept. 10 and a Chase bank in East Setauket on Sept. 12.

Kosin will be held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday.

Police said on Sept. 10 that the robber handed a teller a note indicating he had a gun during the robbery of the Dix Hills Bank of America.

The robbery occurred around 12:30 p.m. at the bank located at 709 Old Country Road. The note demanded cash and the teller complied, giving the man an unspecified amount of money, police said.
