Car Ignites After Crash on Deer Park Ave
A crash sent a driver to the hospital Tuesday morning.
A vehicle burst into flames Tuesday around 9 a.m. on Deer Park Avenue after its driver lost control and hit a utility pole.
The driver was traveling south near Yorktown Road in Dix Hills when she slammed the pole, causing it to snap. The vehicle then rolled over and caught fire, police said. A passersby pulled the driver out of her vehicle and the Dix Hills Fire Department responded to the scene.
The driver was sent to Huntington Hospital with minor injuries.
