Dix Hills FD Responds to Accident at the Ice Rink

Early this morning, a worker fell off a ladder and hit the concrete floor.

Volunteers from the Dix Hills Fire Department responded to an accident at the Dix Hills Ice Rink on Vanderbilt Parkway, Saturday morning, February 5th, at about 6:30 a.m.  

A worker at the rink fell off a ladder and landed on the concrete floor while repairing an overhead roll-down door motor.  

The male patient suffered head and elbow injuries, and was transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center by Suffolk Police Medivac helicopter that landed in the parking lot.

Dix Hills firefighters and rescue personnel were on the scene with an ambulance, two heavy rescue/engines, paramedic and first responder units, under the command of Second Assistant Chief Robert Fling.
