Dix Hills Man Killed in Motor Vehicle Crash

A motor vehicle crash on Larkfield Road in East Northport leaves one Dix Hills man dead and two Dix Hills women injured.

This afternoon, a motor vehicle crash killed a Dix Hills man and left two injured on the corner of Larkfield Road and Alice Lane in East Northport.

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating.

Police said Anthony Padovano was driving his 2006 Ford Escape south on Larkfield Road when for an unknown reason, he  crossed the double yellow line onto oncoming traffic near Alice Lane in East Northport at 2:49 p.m.

Padovano’s vehicle collided against a 2005 BMW that was travelling north on Larkfield Road. Padovano, 44, of 20 Buckingham Drive, was transported to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the BMW, Sharon McCune, 46, of 900 Pear Road, Dix Hills, and her passenger Edith McCune, 67, were both transported to Huntington Hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing.
