East Massapequa Man Tied up and Robbed in his Home

Three men arrested in early Monday incident

Robbers tied up and beat a man inside his East Massapequa home early Monday, before they were arrested, police said.

The incident happened at 12:17 a.m. as Louis Hines, 24, and Dashawn Combs, 25, of Copiague and Herman Monroe of Amityville allegedly entered the Francine Avenue home through an unlocked rear door.

The 22-year-old victim was home alone and the three men tied him up and struck him in the head and face, cops said.

The robbers took two flat screen TVs, jewelry, two iPhones, car keys and an unknown amount of cash, before fleeing the scene in the victim's 2010 Nissan.

Suffolk County Police spotted the suspects on Miller Avenue in Amityville a short time later and found the car nearby, police said.

The other proceeds from the robbery weren't found, police said.

The three men were charged with robbery, burglary, and unlawful imprisonment, police said.

The city doesn't answer their calls....can't compare to Nassau. Nassau much more efficient.

Stop calling it East Massapequa, how about West Amityville. It is Amityville School dIstrict.

I wish it was west Amityville. It is in Massapequa and has been in Amityville school district for years. Ed, Nassau cops arent effective at all, most of them are lazy and over paid for what they do. The robbery that occurred, Nassau didn't catch the perp, Suffolk did...... Nassau cops were most likely hanging out at the firehouses or around the block at the TOB truck shop on Carmen's road. City cops are real cops, and Massapequa has the highest number of city cops on long island who live here. Guys from the city don't and shouldn't have to come home from work and deal with this nonsense that Nassau cops can't handle. City cops do the job in crappy areas for less pay and handle their jobs, Nassau is bothered when they get a job. Big difference, they are just lazy and over paid and by far not even on the same page as city cops.
