The Half Hollow Hills School District will remain closed on Thursday, Nov. 1., and Friday, Nov. 2.

The district's announcement came Wednesday afternoon. In the Dix Hills and Melville communities, thousands remain without power.

Downed trees and utility poles are also blocking roadways across the area and traffic lights are out all over the hamlets that make up the Half Hollow Hills district.
