Melville FD Responds to Crash, Two Injured

Two hospitalized following three vehicle crash in Melville Wednesday morning.

The Melville Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Bagatelle Road and the North Service Road of the Long Island Expressway on Wednesday morning.

The accident involved an oil delivery truck, BMW sports utility vehicle and a tow truck. The drivers of the oil truck and SUV were transported to Huntington Hospital with non-life threatening injuries by the Melville FD Rescue Squad.

Under the command of Second Assistant Chief Jason Bernfeld, 20 firefighters and emergency medical personnel were on the scene with two ambulances, two first responder units, and a heavy rescue truck. The Dix Hills Fire Department assisted with an additional ambulance.
