Melville Man Busted for Grand Larceny

Andrew Napoli surrendered himself to the Crimes Against Property Squad Tuesday morning.

A Melville man was arrested Tuesday for Grand Larceny after he deposited more than $218,000 in checks into a TD Bank account in East Meadow between Oct. 31 and Nov. 23, 2011, police said.

According to the Nassau County Crimes Against Property Squad, Andrew Napoli, 68, deposited the checks that were drawn from a Signature Bank account with insufficient funds. TD Bank automatically applied the funds toward business loans and suffered an additional loss of $31,000 due to administrative fees, police added.

Napoli turned himself in to the Nassau County Crimes Against Property Squad in Westbury and was charged with second-degree Grand Larceny. His arraignment was scheduled on Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
