Crash After Driver Ran Red Light, Cops Say

A two-car crash occurred Thursday afternoon on Broadhollow Road in Melville.

A driver was hospitalized with neck and back injuries today after being hit by another driver who ran a red light, police said.

According to police, the driver of an an Audi Sedan traveling south on Broadhollow Road at Pinelawn Road in Melville, drove through a red light and slammed into a Honda Sedan entering the intersection. 

The driver of the Honda was transported to a local hospital with head and back injuries. The driver of the Audi refused medical attention.

The Melville Fire Department and EMS, as well as Suffolk County Police Emergency Services Unit responded to the scene.
