Motorcyclist Severely Injured In Dix Hills Crash

One man taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries.

A collision between a motorcycle and an SUV in Dix Hills Wednesday night put one man in the hospital with serious injuries.

Citing information from Suffolk County Police, Newsday reported the incident took place at 10:10 p.m. on Wolf Hill Road near the entrance to the Northern State Parkway.

The report said that a Rockville Centre woman, 44, driving a 2004 GMC Denali attempted to make a left turn as she tried to enter the parkway and collided with the motorcycle.

The motorcycle rider, a 35-year old Mineola man, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious head injuries and trauma.

Neither the identity of the SUV driver nor motorcyclist have been released.

Approximately 25 members of the Dix Hills Fire Department were on the scene with two ambulances, two heavy rescue trucks, an engine and paramedic responder. They operated under the direction of Chief Tom Magno, supported by First Assistant Chief Robert Fling and Third Assistant Chief Alan Berkowitz.
