Nearby: Stranger Offers North Babylon Student Ride to School

School district alerts parents to incident.

North Babylon Superintendent Patricia Godek sent a note to parents Wednesday alerting them to an incident in which a stranger offered a ride to an elementary school student.

Godek said a Woods Road Elementary School fifth grader was stopped by a woman between the age of 18 and 22 and asked if she wanted a ride to school.

The child refused and the woman, who was driving a 4-door white Honda Civic, asked again. The police were notified of the incident.

Godek's note does not specify exactly when or where the incident took place.
