Open House Set at the Fire Department
Dix Hills firefighters to provide safety advice, demonstrate skills.
The Dix Hills Fire Department will throw open its doors Oct. 6, demonstrating firefighting techniques, offering safety tips, registering volunteers for a CPR class and more.
The open house at headquarters at 115 East Deer Park Road will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The use of Jaws for Life will be shown at 11:30 a.m. and again at 1 p.m.
At noon and again 1:30 p.m., firefighters will demonstrate their technique in putting out car fires.
