This makes me sick!!!!!!! This guy needs a baseball bat to his head! They really need to make stricter laws regarding animal abuse (amongst other things). If you can abuse, torture, kill an animal, you can abuse, torture kill a human. These monsters need to be stopped!
Pound Pets December 28, 2013 at 09:22 AM
Exactly. Take a bat to his head and see how it feels. There is no excuse for this kind of behaviour. People are so sick the way treat animals. I wonder if the dog belonged to the man he assaulted earlier..

The poor dog has died despite the best efforts of an excellent medical team the injuries he inflicted on her were just too severe. That scum Steven Errante beat an innocent pup and the pain and suffering he caused her is unforgivable. Lock him up and lets see what a big man he really is when he comes up against people his own size. May he rot in hell the filthy coward.

"She was found by the police laying in a pool of her own blood. In a drunken rage, her "owner" beat her, breaking her leg, kicking her teeth out and shoved a beer bottle in her mouth when he was done." This is the kind of person that we want in our society, around our children and other human beings? Anyone capable of such violence towards a defenseless animal, needs more than just a fine and a couple months probation. The dog succumbed to its injuries last night. Just disgusting.

I hope he rots.
Ginger Jacobellis December 28, 2013 at 10:08 AM
I hope someone kicks the hell out of him, he is a disgusting human being and should be removed from society
Deborah Chavez December 28, 2013 at 10:10 AM
I wish someone would do that to him. That baby did not deserve that treatment. I hope they put him behind bars and let him fogey that kind of beating. What's wrong with this people. If you can do that to a helpless dog they can do that to a child.

we need to here from our local elected officials what they intend to do to strengthen laws to protect these animals from people like this that most of the time only get a slap on the wrist and probation and a fine like was stated in an earlier comment already.
Brenda Holley December 28, 2013 at 11:34 AM
I would like someone to beat him with baseball bat, then he can rot in hell! Bastard!
Pamela Robinson December 28, 2013 at 11:54 AM

They should post his picture . Maybe when he gets out ,he will be pressured to kill himself , but in this case I do believe two wrongs do make a right . We need a real life Dexter for people like these . And if they are caught for getting even with these scumbags I'm sure there will be an overwhelming support from the community to keep the out of jail

This isn't the first VIOLENT incident on this property (800 Deer Park Rd): "Two Hospitalized After Armed Robbery at Dix Hills", (Half Hollow Hills Patch, 1/21/2013) "Rottweiler attack sudden and vicious", (Newsday, 6/12/2007). This property has several illegal, overcrowded structures (housing units). Two years ago, the Town of Huntington was told this property was vacant. The TOH is responsible for not following up on this (not enforcing building codes). It's time that we hold the the Town of Huntington responsible for allowing this scum to live amongst us.

I agree again where is our elected officials on this matter??Town officials and county legislator (Steve Stern) that should have foreseen this if it is in fact a ongoing problem at this location makes the death of this innocent animal even worse because maybe it could have been avoided. We need tougher laws implemented and these overcrowded housing units re-visited and stricter guidelines approved.

Please, please do something about this man! Isn't twice enough?
Sherry Prince December 28, 2013 at 03:22 PM
I'm telling you its been getting way out of control with people doing what ever they want to helpless animals. The laws are not strict enough and the courts just give them a slap on the hand for them to just go out and do it again. There is no reason why these people shouldn't get the same treatment as they give to helpless animals. Id like someone to do the same to this POS so called human!!
Lynne Spaul December 28, 2013 at 03:55 PM
For all it's faults, the internet and social media sites (Facebook) really do come into there own in cases like this. Animal lovers from across the globe are watching so let's hope Town official are aware. This man needs a punishment that fits the crime and the WORLD is waiting to see what you will do.
snowrider1954 December 28, 2013 at 08:17 PM
We are the voice of all the animals that are abused ,it is time we stand up and petition the town officials and courts ,find the judge that is hearing this case and let them know that animal abuse will not tolerated.Let us not forget this senseless act on a defenseless animal ,post the court date of Steven Erante and show up in court and let the judge know that we are the voice of the defenseless dog and we want justice for her.
sue brandes December 28, 2013 at 09:59 PM
THIS BEAST NEEDS to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. WHAT A SCUMBAG!! KARMA needs to come NOW!
bill celona December 28, 2013 at 11:59 PM
I agree the senseless abuse of innocent animals must stop and the laws that are in place need to be stricter and enforced so monsters like this don't get a slap on the wrist and are able to roam our towns and do these barbaric crimes again. We must hold them accountable and make sure our elected officials pass stronger laws that can be enforced.

Dear Pearl, I am so sorry you had to suffer such a horrific tragedy. I know Jesus is comforting you now. Don't worry little one, God saw it & his eternal vengeance will be so much more than we humans could ever impose.
GRATEFUL DEAD December 29, 2013 at 11:23 PM
I can't wait until the other prisoners find out what this monster did to an innocent dog & they serve him a nice helping of PRISON JUSTICE. Looking at his picture he looks like all the other scum that are already locked up on those MSNBC prison TV shows........ My wish for the NEW YEAR is for Steven to ROT IN HELL..........
GRATEFUL DEAD December 29, 2013 at 11:26 PM
You can finally REST IN PEACE baby girl...................the monster can't hurt you ever again.......Now hopefully the monster gets a dose of his own twisted brutality..............
Pound Pets January 21, 2014 at 10:32 PM
