Police: Drunk Driver Strikes Construction Worker on Northern State

Andrew Rohkohl, 27, is charged with DWI and drug possession.


A Queens man was arrested early Wednesday morning after he drove through a road closure on the Northern State Parkway in Dix Hills and struck a construction worker, State Police said. 

Andrew Rohkohl, 27, was arrested by troopers on charges of DWI and drug possession following the accident, which occurred at 3:19 a.m, police said. 
 
The construction worker was taken to Huntington Hospital and treated for neck and back pain.

Rohkohl had a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .17 after the crash, more than double the legal limit.
