Police Investigate Possible Hate Crime In Melville

Authorities seeking public's help to locate suspects.

Suffolk County Police are investigating a possible hate crime that happened in Melville earlier this month.

According to police, five vehicles had swastikas drawn on their windshields with clear glue between 11 p.m. April 5 and 7:30 a.m. April 6. The vehicles were located on Cawfield Lane, Clafford Lane, Hanford Street and Dunford Street.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential. A cash reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
