Silver Alert Issued for Missing Man

Huntington resident has Alzheimer's, Suffolk police say.

Suffolk County police issued a silver alert Friday for a missing Huntington man who suffers from Alzheimer’s. 

Alex Mitchell, 84, is described as black, 6 feet 1 inch tall, with gray short hair, a beard and weighs 165 pounds. He was last seen at his house at 16 Depew Street.

 He was driving a 1993 white Jeep Grand Cherokee, with New York license plate LNJ 331.

He was wearing a green jacket, black jeans, white sneakers and a tan checkered cap.

Anyone with information on her location is requested to contact Second Squad detectives at631-854-8252.

Silver Alert is a  program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
