Taxi Slams SUV, Plows Through Fence Into Tree

Driver loses control of vehicle and crashes on Deer Park Avenue in Dix Hills Wednesday morning.

A taxi driver slammed into an SUV, fence and a tree Wednesday morning after losing control of his vehicle on Deer Park Avenue in Dix Hills.

The driver crashed near Clarendon Street at approximately 10:20 a.m. Officials on the scene said that the driver veered off of the road and hit an SUV before driving through a fence and into a tree.

Both drivers were hospitalized with neck and back injuries. They are expected to be OK.
