Cooper Comments From the Democratic Convention

Ex-county legislator shares experiences as Democrats gather to renominate the president.

Former Suffolk County majority leader Jon Cooper is commenting from the floor of the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte.

Wednesday afternoon:

Right now I'm attending a DCCC political briefing with Nancy Pelosi, Steve Israel and other Democratic House leaders. They're outlining our "62 day strategy to win 25 seats" on November 6th, which is what we'll need to take back the House!

I just had a nice chat with former FL Governor Charlie Crist, who's going to be one of the main convention speakers tomorrow night. I mentioned to the Governor that I've taken my kids to Disney World 26 times over the past 26 years, and he said that qualifies us as honorary residents of Florida!

Jon Cooper is one of the finest public servants and human beings I've ever met. And God help us if Romney/Ryan win this election. the rich will continue to get richer, with new tax cuts, while the middle class will see their taxes go up. corporations will have free rein to pollute away. women will lose the right to make their own choices about their reproductive health. and mr. romney will be laughing at us as he watches his offshore money grow and grow and grow. talk about disgusting.

Funny that you'd ask for God's help if Romney/Ryan win the election.
