Dix Hills Pool To Be More Handicapped Accessible

Huntington Town Board appropriates funding for improvements.

The Dix Hills Park pool will soon be more accessible to handicapped residents.

In a vote of 5-0, the Huntington Town Board approved a resolution to appropriate money from the Environmental Open Space and Park Improvement Fund and Neighborhood Parks Fund for improvements recommended by guidelines within the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The town will use $128,000 from the funds to enlarge the handicapped parking area, replace fencing and installing a concrete floor in the tent area.
