HART Buses, Trash Pickup to Return

Huntington says services will get back to normal after weekend blizzard.

HART service will return to normal Monday as Huntington continues to dig out from the blizzard.

Also due to return is trash pickup for neighborhoods that normally have Monday pickup, the town said Sunday evening, though many streets are still plagued by huge mounds of snow and limited vehicle access.

The National Weather Service said Huntington was hit by 29 inches of snow.

We put our garbage can out for pick-up this morning and late in the morning saw the truck drive by on the adjoining street. They never made any attempt to come up our road, which was plowed. The town's website has not had any visible information posted on it about the storm or emergency preparedness for it or what was going on with plowing or garbage pick-up or buses. If the info is hidden in some obscure part of the website what good does it do anyone? And if they aren't communicating with us via their website, what good are they? The whole complaint with Sandy was lack of communication and here we are with NONE from the Town this time.
