The pool is great for kids. The snack bar needs work.

the pool was fine as it was- this was just an excuse to pocket money for a project and make it kid friendly-- all that money.. it looks the same except for an island in the middle-and no more deep end? thats not a pool

what a misuse of tax dollars. if you are going to spend this much money on a public place, think of the public, not your insurance policy... * the diving boards are sorely missed. * typical for this park, there are still WAY TOO MANY RULES * the slide is silly- and, it takes at least four staff to work the slides to make sure that no one too small gets on even though the landing area is INCHES deep! I suppose it is good that they are putting extra people to work in this economy! * the same old issue of kids pooping in the pool was not well addressed with this new design!! Now there is just one huge pool so every time one of these air-headed Port parents takes lets their child, who is either wearing a diaper or otherwise not potty trained, into the pool everything we end up with regular poop evacuations, which closes the pool for an hour or more. *the swim lanes are so shallow that the swim team cannot even make their return without brushing up against the floor of the pool. * shallow, shallow, shallow - EVERYWHERE!! Might as well go wade in Manhasset Bay for free, its probably cleaner, deeper, more fun...

I totally agree- this pool is such a waste of our tax money. It's bad enough that the pool is so shallow you have to waddle around on your knees in order to remain under water while wading / cooling off! WTF??!! WHO designed this, WHO?!?! It is like a super large baby pool. You know, we parents work hard and like to stay active, the pool is one of the few community attractions in Port that are for the general population, and of course it is shut down for hours at a time every couple of days because these ding-bat parents let their kids, who are not old enough (or smart enough) to go and use the restroom when they need to go! I am not exaggerating here, I am really serious: I have been to the pool three times this season. TWO OF MY THREE VISITS WERE INTERRUPTED BY, (borrowing words from above) a poop-evacuation!! Last week and today. In fact, today, it was diarrhea according to the lifeguard so it takes TWO hours to clean the pool after that, and one hour (to essentially bleach the water) after a normal poop/feces/crap, whatever. WHO TAKES THEIR KIDS TO THE POOL WHEN THEY HAVE DIARRHEA?!?! PEOPLE PLEASE KEEP YOUR KIDS AT HOME IF THEY ARE NOT FEELING WELL AND POTTY TRAIN YOUR KIDS BEFORE STICKING THEIR BODIES IN A SHARED, PUBLIC WATERING HOLE! Money can NOT buy you brains, common sense or manners in this town... And those who are responsible for this project should hang their heads in shame. It is indeed a huge disappointment. Who is running the show, anyway??
