Stern Encourages His Neighbors to Donate Old Flags

Suffolk County Legislator Steve Stern (D-Huntington), Chairman of the Veterans and Seniors Committee, is encouraging his neighbors to bring any torn, tattered or faded American flags to the Greenlawn American Legion-Post 1244’s  “Traveling Flag Box” which will be stationed at “Ready Riders” at 15 East Deer Park Road, Dix Hills from January 19 through January 24.  

Post 1244 will ensure that flags will be destroyed with the respect and dignity that they are due.

“I applaud the Greenlawn American Legion-Post 1244 for bringing the “Old Glory Flag Box” to our community so we can be sure that American flags, the symbol of our great nation, are disposed of properly,” Legislator Stern said.
