Two Massapequa Residents Caught in DWI Interlock Violation Sweep

Nassau County District Attorney announces arrest of 25 convicted drunk drivers accused of driving without interlock devices.

Two Massapequa area residents have been arrested in a sweep targeting convicted drunk drivers who've violated an order to use ignition interlock requirements on their vehicles, Nassau County Prosecutors said.

Mark Moscola, 38, of North Massapequa and Vladimir Jean, 31, of East Massapequa were among 25 people busted in the two week sweep conducted by the Nassau County District Attorney and the county Department of Probation.

drunk drivers convicted after August 15, 2010 were required to install inerlock devices, which require drivers to pass a breathalyzer test in order to start their vehicle.

If they don't pass, the driver is required to stop their car and a violation is sent to their probation officer.

Moscola and Jean were arrested after driving illegally to meet with their probation officers, prosecutors said.

They were charged with operating a motor vehicle without a court ordered interlock, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
