Weather Watch--Friday Update

Heavy rains, high winds and some power outages in the forecast for this morning. Trees limbs and branches down in many locations.

Friday morning update:

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Suffolk County until 10:15 a.m. today.  

At 8 a.m. this morning the NWS doppler radar indicated flash flooding from a line of heavy to moderate rainfall. Rainfall rates of one to one and a half inches in one hour is possible. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding in certain areas.

The photos posted here were taken at 7:30 a.m. this morning. 

The NWS said not to drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. They said the water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. Move to higher ground.
