Dix Hills Student Is NYS Champ in US Constitution Competition

Caitlin Kennedy wins American Legion Oratorical Contest.

Caitlin Kennedy of Dix Hills was named the New York State Champion in the American Legion Oratorical Contest, a national competition on the details of the United States Constitution.

The rigorous competition stresses an understanding of leadership, knowledge of the United States Constitution, and an appreciation of the rights, privileges and duties of citizenship. 

Suffolk County Legis. Steve Stern (D-Huntington) awarded Kennedy with a proclamation at the May general session of the legislature for her performance in the contest, held in Indianapolis.
