In their first game playing in a new division, Suffolk I, the Hills East Thunderbirds crushed the Musketeers of Central Islip 38-14 on Saturday.
The visiting T-Birds played convincingly on both sides of the ball, with outstanding play by quarterback R.J. Nitti, who ran in four touchdowns himself and went to the air for the fifth, accumulating 189 yards of total offense.
Wide receiver/corner back Rasheed Williams, linebacker Maleik Henry, outside Linebacker/ running back Quentin America, and Hills East returnee offensive guard/defensive tackle Damon Aguilar were also standouts.
Williams had nine tackles which forced five fumbles. Henry had 7.5 tackles and one fumble recovery, America had 5 tackles and one fumble recovery, and Aguilar had five tackles. Aguilar spent the last two seasons playing at Valley Forge Military Academy in PA, but has come back to play his senior year at Hills East.
The T-Birds look forward to their first home game, this Friday against Ward Melville. The "Friday Night Lights" game will be at 7p.m. It is a Black Out game, so please wear black! This is a big community event- please bring your friends and family and show your support for Hills East Football!
