Field of Dreams: Hills West Baseball Gives Back

Players teach a few lessons, make a few young friends.

Nothing quite compares with the excitement of hitting a home run!

And on Saturday, May 14, the Hills West varsity baseball team made many home runs happen for baseball players in The Miracle League of Long Island. This charitable organization is a baseball league that was established for children with disabilities.

Each of the Hills West Colts baseball players was paired with a Miracle League player. As buddies, the Hills West players provided assistance in batting, swinging, moving and the overall enjoyment of the baseball game and its traditions.

The all-day event, including two separate games, was held at The Amphitheater Field in Brookhaven, though the field of dreams for The Miracle League is located at Bald Hill in Farmingdale.  Hills West coach Tom Migliozzi said it was a rewarding experience for all the players, and even the parents.
