Half Hollow Hills School Budget Passes

Half Hollow Hills voters approved a $234 million budget on Tuesday for the 2014-15 school year.

With a final tally of 2,084 to 709 in favor, residents within the Half Hollow Hills School District can expect to see a 2.34 percent increase in their collective tax levy in the following year. The budget falls within the tax levy capital limit.

Three school board candidates won seats: Diana Acampora received 1179 votes, Paul Peller received 1,116 and Betty DeSabato, 1,106.

Of the other candidates running, Adam Kleinberg received 1097 votes; Stephanie Gurin received 987; Matthew Glaser, 797; Alan Lacher, 661; and Craig Gardy, 542.
