Half Hollow Hills School Budget Passes

Half Hollow Hills voters approved a $234 million budget on Tuesday for the 2014-15 school year.

With a final tally of 2,084 to 709 in favor, residents within the Half Hollow Hills School District can expect to see a 2.34 percent increase in their collective tax levy in the following year. The budget falls within the tax levy capital limit.

Three school board candidates won seats: Diana Acampora received 1179 votes, Paul Peller received 1,116 and Betty DeSabato, 1,106.

Of the other candidates running, Adam Kleinberg received 1097 votes; Stephanie Gurin received 987; Matthew Glaser, 797; Alan Lacher, 661; and Craig Gardy, 542.

7 votes separate Kleinberg and DeSabato. 10 affidavits still to be validated. Election results are UNOFFICIAL until all is finalized. Please present the facts accurately. Thank you.

I would guess that if you want to correct someone you should be able to provide an accurate comment, it is 9 to tie and 10 to win for Klienberg not 7. Sounds like a "Common Core math issue". The angry "UNOFFICIAL" in capital letters is also not necessary. The voters got it right, Desabato is the right choice.

It's Kleinberg and DeSabato - but who focuses on spelling nowadays? 7, 9 or 1 - no difference in the point I am making. The results remain UNOFFICIAL - caps for emphasis, not anger - and will remain so for probably several more days. As to the opinion you expressed about the voters.... we disagree.

Of course you disagree but DESABATO won as did PELLER and ACAMPORA. Spelling aside and weather you agree or not those are the facts.
