Half Hollow Hills State Aid Rises

New figures show school district will receive a $1.26 million increase over 2012-13.

With state lawmakers working to approve New York’s 2013-14 budget, new state aid figures show Half Hollow Hills will be getting an increase over initial aid projections.

Figures received on Thursday by Patch show the school district will be receiving an additional $1.261 million in state aid over what was originally proposed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in January. The school district’s total state aid for the 2013-14 school year will be $27,133,376, a 4.66 percent increase over the 2012-13 school year budget.

Initial state aid figures presented in January showed Half Hollow Hills was slated to have a 0.14 percent decrease in state aid. This decrease, combined with other cost increases led to an initial proposal by school administrators to close one or more schools for the 2013-14 school year.
