Christopher Hunter and Samir Touhamy are finalists in the 2011 National Achievement Scholarship Program.

Two students from High School East, Christopher Hunter and Samir Touhamy, have been named as finalists in the 2011 National Achievement Scholarship Program, an academic competition for black American high school students.

More than 160,000 high school juniors nationwide requested consideration in the 2011 National Achievement Scholarship Program when they took the 2009 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

HS East principal Jeff Woodberry said, "We are very proud of Christopher and Samir. This is a very prestigious, very selective program and to have two students selected right here at Hills East...It's amazing."
