Sharing a love of reading, Huntington Councilwoman Susan A. Berland participated at Sunquam Elementary School's recent Parents as Reading Partners (PARP) Mystery Reader Day.

The Councilwoman joined Mrs. Killen’s kindergarten class on Friday and read several books that have belonged to her since childhood.

“It was a pleasure for me to participate in Sunquam Elementary School’s Parents as Reading Partners Community Reader event," Councilwoman Berland, said in a statement.

“The benefits of reading with a child on a daily basis at an early age are invaluable," she added. "I applaud Sunquam Elementary School for recognizing the importance of reading and I thank them for inviting me to be a part of such a special day.”
