North Babylon Schools Reopen Wednesday

Power is restored in all buildings and classes will resume.

School is back in session on Wednesday in North Babylon.

Superintendent Patricia Godek announced Monday afternoon that all buildings now have power and are preparing to open Nov. 7.

The school district shut down for an unprecedented seven days as Hurricane Sandy whipped her ugly head through Long Island, leaving flooding, downed trees, power outages and structural damage in her path.

As of 3 p.m. on Sunday, Robert Moses Middle School, William E. DeLuca Elementary, and Parliament Place Elementary, were still without power. The bus garage was also without power and communication. All power was restored on Monday, Nov. 5.

The district has also created an official Facebook page to help residents and parents stay informed of the latest updates.
