Otsego 'Digs' Volleyball Fundraiser

Community rallies to support art programs in first-ever PTA event.

Parents and staff of traded in their work atire for blue and yellow tie dyed shirts and sneakers Thursday night in the first ever PTA Parents vs. Staff Volleyball Fundraiser event.

Students sported pom poms and cheered on their parents and teachers as the teams attempted to attack the net.

The event is a first for the Otsego PTA which will use the money raised to help support art and education programs in the school, while the district is faced with a .

"We wanted to do something to unite the community and be something that would attract families," Katy Madden, PTA co-president, said.

"It's a nice feeling to see everyone united for the children," added Maggie Chong, PTA co-president.

Parents, students and members of the school community filled the gymnasium stands at to root on the teams.

"Hopefully it will be a tradition that lasts," Chong said.
