Signal Hill Explores the Adventures of Reading

Elementary students enjoy a night of reading at the book store's East Northport location.

Signal Hill Elementary School celebrated a night of reading with its annual Barnes & Noble family trip on Nov. 30.

For the first time, the event was held at the East Northport store, since the Huntington Station location is now closed. Students were encouraged to show off their school pride by wearing apparel or, get cozy and come in pajamas.

Surprises were found in every nook of the store including, a craft station, read-alouds, Starbucks, and mini concerts by clarinet, orchestra, and choral students.

An extra special bonus was the ‘Get out of homework free’ card for attending. Those who dined at Panera Bread or Chili’s that evening also donated a portion of their purchase back to the Signal Hill PTA.
