Snap Happy Senior Honored for Photo Skills

Hills West student Tanya Jain named a scholar artist for her pictures captured on film.

Half Hollow Hills senior Tanya Jain was named as a 2011-2012  Scholar Artist by Newsday and The Long Island Arts Alliance (LIAA). Tanya was selected for her exceptional photography portfolio and academic achievement.

The goal of the LIAA Scholar Artist program is to advance art education on Long Island. Scholar Artists are chosen from five disciplines: Fine Arts, Music, Theater, Dance, and Media Arts. Each Spring, twenty students are selected from a pool of Long Island students. From these nominees, Scholar Artist selection committees, consisting of Long Island arts leaders and school officials choose one monthly award winner from each county.

A celebratory gala will be held in the Spring at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts on the C.W. Post Campus.
