Super Bowl Math

Vanderbilt 2nd graders learn 'fast facts."

In Rissa Zimmerman’s 2nd grade class at Vanderbilt Elementary School, learning ‘fast facts’ was part of the Super Bowl excitement.

Students donned their jerseys, were split into two teams and responded to addition and subtraction flash cards. The action was quick, and as each correct answer was given, the helmet moved along the field on the big screen. The final score in the class was a tie!

Not so with Super Bowl: the Baltimore Ravens beat the San Francisco 49ers. Here’s a fast fact: 34-31=?
