School Superintendent Contract Extended

Board of Education approves five-year term in employment agreement.

The Half Hollow Hills Board of Education voted to extend Superintendent of Schools Kelly Fallon’s contract Monday.

Fallon’s initial contract, which began Sept. 1, 2011, was for a three-year term. She will now serve as superintendent until 2017.

The superintendent came to Half Hollow Hills in 1995 to serve as principal of after holding teaching and assistant principal roles in the Bay Shore, William Floyd and Lindenhurst school districts.

She holds multiple degrees in education and administration from Dowling College and C.W. Post and served as an adjunct professor at Touro College. Fallon moved into the administrative offices after five years at Paumanok, climbing the ranks to deputy superintendent in November 2010. She was hired as superintendent the following year, when Sheldon Karnilow retired from the position after a decade leading the district.

Fallon, along with all Half Hollow Hills administrators, will take a pay freeze for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 schools years.
