New Mascot for Colts

Half Hollow Hills High School West retires worn out costume and accepts class gift.

What's big, tough and red all over? The Colts new mascot.

Half Hollow Hills High School West officially retired Johnny Colt, the brown and tattered, donkey-looking costume and upgraded to a flashier, bolder and more fierce-looking stallion. The new mascot literally wears its heart on its sleeve, with a patch that reads the costume is a gift to the school from the Class of 2011.

The new Colt made his official debut at the Jan. 3 home basketball game, with graduate and last year's resident mascot, Nathaniel Kristall inside it. Lucky for him, the new costume features a fan inside of the head, making it much more comfortable to wear.
