When Has Math Been This Much Fun?

Chestnut Hill students explore learning in a new interactive way.

recently held its annual curriculum celebration and this year’s theme was math. 

In the fall, a new math series, “enVision,” was introduced for kindergarten through fifth grade students.  It is based on national math standards, is interactive in its teaching/learning approach with manipulatives designed to help the younger student develop a deeper understanding of mathematics. Many aspects of enVision were seen throughout Chestnut Hill’s hallways.

According to Ian Dunst, HHH director of mathematics, “Beginning in elementary school, the mathematics program focuses on the development of critical thinking and problem solving strategies.”
