This week's Whiz Kid honor goes to senior and art extraordinaire Julia Lerner.
In addition to being one of Long Island's 20 scholar artists, Julia was recently awarded with two additional prestigious scholarships.
Julia was one of only five students selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Peter Terian Fine Arts Foundation.
From the Friends of Oheka Castle, Julia received $2,500. Each year, only five students are chosen to receive the Otto Kahn award. Julia was the only artist selected in the visual arts category, as the other winners were in performing arts and music.
Both scholarships required Julia to submit portfolio presentations, academic records and detailed applications.
Julia will be attending Arcadia University in Pennsylvania in the fall.
Her major? Art, of course.
