Anthony Abidin Wins State Title at 125 Pounds

Hills East wrestler beats Brentwood's Alex Gomez in final.

Hills East’s Anthony Abidin captured the 125-pound title at the New York State wresting championship last weekend.

He beat fellow Section XI grappler Alex Gomez from Brentwood, 4-2, in the final to win the title at Times Union Center in Albany.

Abidin beat Shenendehowa’s Max Miller, 9-4, in the semifinals to reach the 125-pound championship bout.
