Lizards Lacrosse Clinic To Benefit Sandy Victims

Long Island's professional LAX team to hold benefit Nov. 24 in Islip.

The spring lacrosse season may be several months away, but area youth players will be able to spend some time with local professionals next weekend, all to benefit a good cause.

The Long Island Lizards of Major League Lacrosse will host a clinic on Saturday, Nov. 24, at Maud Sherwood Elementary School, 301 Smith Ave. in Islip with proceeds benefitting the Hurricane Sandy Long Island Disaster Relief Fund. Registration is $35 and the clinic is open to players in Kindergarten to 12th grade.

"Being based in Long Island, the Lizards organization has seen firsthand the devastation caused by Sandy,” said Jeffery Rudnick, the Lizards’ chief executive officer. “Many of our own players, staff, and families have been forced out of their homes and have had to rely on the kindness of their friends and families.”
