NBA Lockout Delays Harris' Pro Debut

Former Half Hollow Hills West hoops star gives The New York Times a look at his training regimen.

As the National Basketball Association and the league’s Players Union fail to come to a new contract agreement, the professional career of Half Hollow Hills West alumni Tobias Harris remains on hold.

Drafted this past spring by the Charlotte Bobcats and later traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, Harris was to have made his pro debut this season. December 2 would have been the Bucks' first game of the season in New York to play the Knicks and would have also been Harris’ first professional game at Madison Square Garden.

But all that is on hold for the foreseeable future.

“I’ve been dreaming this N.B.A. dream since I was a little kid, and now I can’t wait to start living it,” Harris told the New York Times recently.

Over the summer, Harris spent sometime in the Dix Hills community. Now, as he hopes for an NBA season, The Times reported that Harris has been doing many things to keep him in game shape.
