The New York Yankees begin their quest for a 28th World Series title Friday night when they host the Detroit Tigers.
It won't be easy for New York, which faces Detroit ace pitcher Justin Verlander in the first game.
Fans throughout the region seemed confident, however, and celebrated the second season by sending Patch their personal photos from Yankee Stadium.

I was at two very memorable games. David Cone's perfect game and this year Derek Jeter's 3000th hit game which was also my wife's 65th birthday. Two amazing games. Lots of good memories from both. Oh yeah, one more thing, as a child I was at Whitey Ford day and remember he was driven around the old stadium in a caddy convertible.
David probably would like that. He's actually a Phillies fan!
