We need your blood--now!

We need your blood. No, this isn't for the latest Twilight installment.  The New York Blood Center isn't made up of vampires.

But there are blood shortages on Long Island and many schools in the area are holding blood drives.

The New York Blood Ceter states on their website: "Donating blood is literally giving the gift of life. Each day, NYBC needs close to 2,000 people a day to roll up their sleeves to give the gift of life. There is simply no substitute for voluntarily donated blood. Without volunteer donors, our community would not have an adequate community blood supply."

Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with appropriate written permission (NY) or consent (NJ) from their parent or legal guardian - form can be printed from list below) and weigh 110 pounds and be in good health.
