Fresh Air Fund Kids Cut Up the Ice at Dix Hills Ice Rink

Children in not-for-profit program come from New York City to Huntington.

Seventeen New York City children who stayed with host families from Huntington through the Fresh Air Fund got to spend a day on the ice at Dix Hills Ice Rink for "some ice-cold summer fun," according to a statement released by Huntington Town Councilwoman Susan A. Berland.

The kids are in Huntington as part of the non-profit agency's program that provides thousands of New York City children with summer experiences.

“I commend each of our host families from Huntington for participating in this program and inviting these great kids into their homes for a summer vacation,” Councilwoman Berland said. “The Fresh Air Fund is a great organization and I am glad that we can partner with them to provide the children the opportunity to enjoy the simple pleasures of life away from the city.”
