Winter Solstice Concert at Vanderbilt

The Long Island Composers Alliance (LICA) will present Iktus Percussion in Winter Solstice Celebration on Sunday, December 8, at 6:30 p.m. in the William and Mollie Rogers Theater at the Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum’s Charles and Helen Reichert Planetarium (180 Little Neck Road, Centerport). Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors (62 plus) and students with ID, $10 for children 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased at the door or make reservations by calling the Vanderbilt at 631-854-5579.

Great Chefs Event to Benefit Family Service League

Family Service League will be the beneficiary of the 21st annual Great Chefs event Sunday. Foods from more than 40 Long Island restaurants will be available, along with music, drink and raffles. The event is scheduled for 2-4 p.m. at the Crest Hollow Country Club, Woodbury.

Whitman Mall Plans CaringSanta Event

Walt Whitman Shops is hosting a CaringSanta event Sunday, starting at 9 a.m., an opportunity for special-needs children to meet with Santa in a quiet environment.
