<p>The Park Shore Country Day Camp was founded in 1959 and has provided its recreational day camp program to the local communities for 51 years. </p>
<p>It offers up-to-date facilities and programs and features three heated swimming pools with pool slides, a one-of-a-kind SkyTrail High Ropes Adventure Course with zip line, bungee trampoline, 24 foot rockwall and baseball "dream field" complete with electronic scoreboard and batting cages.</p> <p>In addition, campers enjoy swimming, baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, tennis, hockey, volleyball, inline skating, arts and crafts, woodworking, music, dance, performing arts, nature, baking and cooking and special events each week. Campers are placed into age-appropriate camp groups each with an adult group leader and two college-aged counselors. </p> <p>The lunch program is supervised by a head chef who is a culinary professor and stars in a cooking show, "In the Kitchen with Barbara," found on the camp's website. Park Shore provides door-to-door transportation.</p> <p>Park Shore also offers three travel programs for boys and girls entering 5th through 8th grades as of September. Each program has their travelers going to destinations on and off Long Island.</p> <p>YEAR ROUND PRE-SCHOOL</p> <p>The Park Shore Pre-School, which was established in 1959, is endorsed by over 25 school district teacher unions on Long Island and New York. It is one of the only pre-schools to incorporate SmartBoard interactive technology into the curriculum.</p> <p>In addition, Park Shore has a nationally recognized  literacy consultant on staff who works with teachers and students to stay on the cutting edge of reading and writing. The school sits on 15 acres complete with playgrounds, ball fields, tennis courts and a nature trail with a fish pond and bamboo jungle. Each classroom has a lead teacher along with several assistants to make sure each child receives the necessary attention to learn and grow to the highest potential.</p> <p>Park Shore is proud to announce the addition of an all-new science program. This new learning experience will take place in the all-new science lab that will be filled with science equipment necessary to stimulate and educate all of the young scientists who will enter on a regular basis. In addition, Park Shore will have an exciting collection of small animals, fish and reptiles that will be cared for by all of the children and staff. </p> <p>Park Shore also has a music program, a physical education program with indoor gym and a very interactive computer lab.</p>
