<strong>Where I reside... </strong>I have lived in Dix Hills for 7 years in a lovely ranch upon a hill, at the end of a cul de sac that is also on a hill. I look back and wonder why my husband and I did not consider those hills with regard to winter&#39;s display of snow and ice when we bought the house, but the peaceful surroundings in our backyard make up for the inconveniences that nature brings in the winter. We always say a prayer that our plowman will return with each snow fall, for school and work would just not happen until we get our driveway plowed!

<strong>My family... </strong>Our two children are in elementary school in the HHH school district. Born in far East Russia, my husband and I adopted our sons in 2009 at ages 4 and 5, after having hosted our eldest son for summer camp in the summer of 2008. Our whole adoption journey seems like a distant dream now. My sons and our family are my greatest inspiration. Since they are boys, there&#39;s a bit of perspiration thrown in!

<strong>What I do now...</strong> Before becoming a mom, I was a marketing director at a financial institution on Long Island. Currently an entrepreneur, I guess you can call me a &#34;work at home Mom&#34; these days. I just cannot call myself a SAHM, as I rarely just &#34;stay&#34; at home. Besides, being at home instead of in a structured office job setting is, quite frankly, more work than I thought it was when I &#34;worked outside the home.&#34; There&#39;s nothing like doing something yourself to discover what it really entails. I bow to all mothers, because they all work hard, whether inside or outside of their homes!

<strong>My areas of expertise...</strong> I have financial, marketing, copy writing, retail, household, school, business ownership, adoption, parenting, child-rearing and many other areas of knowledge and experience that I could write about and I do write about on several blogs, both personal and through ghost-writing.

<strong>Every day is an adventure... </strong>I hope to bring interesting stories and perspectives to our community through the Dix Hills Patch.
